I came home from church one night and was so burdened for a backslider. I set up praying for them after my family went to sleep. Words begin to come to me and i picked up my guitar and began to write. The sun rose the next morning as i was finishing this song. I hope it will bring HOPE to every backslider and also to the one who has FAILED miserable and feels there's NO HOPE for him or her.

Hello,  here is the latest news about what's God is doing with some of the songs he's given me.

SPECIAL NOTE: FROM IRELAND

I received a e-mail this week from Greg Bently with Crossroads Studios. He said a group from Ireland called Revelation wanted to record one of my new songs titled "The Greatest Wonder". I am so honored that God has given me a door to share through song the good news of Jesus Christ. Greg said this was a very popular group in Ireland. They have signed with Crossraods and will be traveling to the USA to record. Also Greg said they will be releasing a radio single from their project here in the United States.

THE PORTER FAMILY......

Has released "Sinner's Prayer" as their next radio single for August 2010. They did a wonderful job on the song! Several groups have recorded this song since 2008. I have several testimonies about people being saved by God's Spirit dealing with them when they heard this song. One man was dying with cancer. Him and a family member was driving back home from a radiation treatment when they heard the song come on XM Enlighten 34. The man began to cry and they pulled their truck over and he prayed for Salvation right there. The e-mail said he died two days later. Glory to God for his saving power!

Karen Peck & New River released to radio my song "Why Should I Worry". It debut at #36  on the Singing News charts for June 2010. Then for July it jumped to #21 and for August 2010 it's #8 on the SN charts. Now it's at #4 for September 2010. I give God all the glory for every life that it's touched thus far.

The Singing Cookes released a radio single this year  "God Will Make A Way" that I wrote over 22 years ago, when Me and my wife where going through some very rough times financially.

I was honored to co-write a song with Bro. Jim E. Davis (Who wrote "Preach The Word" by Gold City) in the last few months. Karen Peck has the song on hold for her next project this summer.

I also thank God for allowing me to go to Nashville, TN and co-write with John Robinson and Rebecca Peck. We wrote a song called "Memories Only Prove".  This was my first co-write. It was wonderful! Rebecca  won Songwriter of the year in 2005, plus many BMI awards and many Dove and Grammy nominations.

Also Brother Kevin Collins from Bristow, OK (Bristow Holiness Church) and his group was just in the recording studio and recorded three songs of mine. I am VERY HONORED!!!  It was a delight when he called me. Their project is now out, as of July 2010. They did a wonderful job. It has several original new songs. To all the Holiness People..... If your recording a project and would like to hear some new songs I've wrote please feel free to contact me. It is my desire to write songs that uplift God's people. I have several brand new songs I've written in the last few months. I am very proud to be apart of the Holiness people. They are my family!

Here is a few songs God has blessed me to write. We hope they are a blessing.

A SONG CAN GO PLACES YOU COULD NEVER GO. IT CAN REACH PEOPLE YOU'LL NEVER SEE. IT CAN TOUCH HEARTS THAT YOU COULD NEVER TOUCH. IT CAN SPEAK HOPE TO THE HURTING, HELP TO THE DISCOURAGED, HEALING TO THE SICK AND EVEN SALVATION TO THE LOST.  IT CAN SPEAK, EVEN WHEN THE SONGWRITER IS A SLEEP. ULTIMATELY, A SONG CAN LIVE ON PASS THE SONGWRITER'S  DEATH AND STILL,  MINISTER FOR THE GLORY OF GOD. DON'T EVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A SONG!!!
