The Simpson Family

The Simpson Family were Featured on the Pentecostal Voice of Truth Radio Network in March and April of 2009 as Artist of the Month. The following article was written by the PVOTRN Journalist, Bro. Andrew Stephens.

The Simpson FamilyThe independent Holiness movement has been blessed throughout the years to have many vocalists and songwriters. This month we feature a family who will soon release their second recording. This family is known as the Simpson family. Rick and Beverly Simpson, who have been married for nearly twenty-five years, have three children. The children are Sabrina Simpson Prickett (age 21), married to Bro. Jonathan Prickett; Hope (age 16); and their only son, Isaac (age 10). Sabrina and Jonathan welcomed a daughter, Kailee Grace, into the world in February 2008. In addition to singing with the family, Bro. Rick Simpson has written many songs recorded by a wide variety of nationally known groups. Currently, the Simpson's are the pastors of Summit Holiness Church in Alabama. Together the Simpson's share music that encourages the Christian as he or she faces everyday challenges and trials.

Since the beginning of their ministry, the Simpson family has been encouraged to continue singing for the Lord and sharing the message of Salvation in a sinful world. In the early stages of being a pastor, Bro. Simpson’s family was privileged to preach and sing the Gospel message around the country in various camp meetings and revivals. In addition to the family’s ability to sing and harmonize, Bro. Rick has written many encouraging songs. Several of these have been recorded by national artists including: the Greesons, the Kirkland's, Atoned, the Cupps, Eddie Lee & Anointed, Johnson Revue, Holy Destiny, Justin Morphis, the Compton's, and Master’s Voice. In 2008, Bro. Simpson was privileged to have three radio singles which were “Sinner’s Prayer”, “When God Showed Up”, and “He’s My Friend.” “Sinner’s Prayer” and “When God Showed Up”, which were both recorded by the Greesons, enjoyed significant radio airplay in the fact that they charted on the Singing News magazine’s Top 80 Charts at #47 and #51 respectively. Many people have been encouraged through the message of the song, “Sinner’s Prayer.” Marlin Taylor, host and radio programmer of XM Radio’s Enlighten 34, asked Bro. Simpson to share a small sermon to be placed on the radio station’s web page in addition to sharing the song’s history. Taylor also shared that there have been several people who have come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through that particular song. Paul Heil, host of The Gospel Greats program, asked Bro. Simpson if his song could be included for listening when visiting his Free Gift page which shares the message of salvation.

In 2009, Bro. Simpson plans for God to use his songwriting in ways he’s never imagined. Two more of his songs will be singled to radio stations nationwide within the next six months. They are “Help Me Not to Be Afraid” and “I’ll Trust God Today.” The Simpson family has recorded a new cd which was produced by Southern Gospel songwriter, Adam Kohout. This is a follow-up to their recording which was released four years ago. For more information on purchasing this new album, you may contact Bro. Rick Simpson by e-mail, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or through the purchase links below. Continue praying for the Simpson family as God directs them to share His message of hope and encouragement while following His will and desires.

The Simpson Family would like to say we have been overwhelmed by the response of our last project "Everything's Gonna Turn Out Right". We have received letters, e-mails, and calls from those that have been blessed by this CD. That was our prayer during the process of making this project.  We worked for several months to find the right songs and the message to match what we felt God wanted in this project.   One thing that pleased us so much was the response from the young people. One Pastor told us that his two daughters "PLAY"  Sabrina & Hope singing all the time. It was our desire to put together a CD that everyone and every age  could enjoy and be blessed. We are also honored to have Karen Peck & New River record Why Should I Worry (a song off of our project) on her latest project No Worries CD.  We never dreamed anything like that would happen. But we give God all the glory. We pray the song "Why Should I Worry"  will touch hearts all across America. As of July 15, 2010 it is #4 on the Singing News Charts for September 2010 and still climbing.

Thank each of you so much for ALL the kind words. You are welcome to leave The Simpson Family a message in the Guest Book.

Special Note: To answer a question we receive a lot.  It's our desire to make another PROJECT when the funds are available. If anyone would want to make a large donation to fund it, please contact us. LOL

We have been honored to be the feature artist on The Pentecostal Voice of Truth Radio Network and also the HOGOMU.COM web page. We would like to say thanks to these two ministries.

Sincerely. The Simpson Family
